Lean Logistics Training

Reduce fluctuations to reduce your inventory

Effective logistics are the backbone of lean operations. This course focuses on designing material flow systems that manage inventory effectively, and support stable, responsive production environments. Participants will explore the fundamentals of inventory management, learning how fluctuations in demand and supply affect inventory levels, delivery performance, and overall flow stability.

Lean logistics inventory

Understand your inventory! What is wrong here?

Store your goods in the most efficient way

We’ll dive into storage strategies and the impact of part presentation on efficiency and ergonomics. From centralized warehouses to point-of-use storage and supermarkets, participants will learn how to choose and implement storage methods that align with lean principles and support the needs of the production process.

Lean Logistics Storage

Just a small selection of storage options to choose from.

Right part, right place, right time, right quantity—quite a task!

The course also introduces various material supply concepts, including milk runs and point-of-use providers. These systems are examined in terms of flexibility, frequency, and responsiveness, with a focus on supporting continuous flow and minimizing overstocking.

A point of use provider, but a pretty complex one!

Know how to optimize your logistics

In a practical part, participants will do a hands-on simulation with Kingman’s Formula to understand how fluctuation and utilization will affect inventory and delivery performance.

This practical session bridges theory and implementation, helping learners design and adjust lean logistics systems that are resilient, efficient, and scalable.
