Lean Standards Training

Build stable, efficient, and flexible production processes.

Behind every excellent production system lies a set of stable, repeatable, and optimized processes. This Lean Standards course combines the core capabilities from our three lean tools training programs—SMED (Quick Changeover), Work Standards, and Pull Production. In hands-on simulations and practical workshops, you’ll learn how to reduce setup times, standardize work, maximize equipment availability, and synchronize your operations with actual customer demand. The result? More flexibility, less downtime, and processes that run as smoothly as they were designed to.

SMED one production run vs two production runs

Understand how to run your environment in an optimized way

Stabilize equipment, reduce changeovers, and increase uptime

Unplanned stops and long changeovers can cripple even the best-designed processes. This section focuses entirely on our SMED training and shows you how to drastically reduce setup times and increase flexibility. You’ll learn how to separate internal and external setup tasks, streamline changeover steps, and build standardized methods that keep production flowing. The result: faster changeovers, shorter lead times, and more responsive operations.

Establish robust, repeatable standards

Without standard work, continuous improvement collapses into chaos. This section, drawn from our Work Standards training, teaches you how to define and implement practical standards that drive both stability and engagement. Learn to balance work content across stations, define cycle times, create visual work instructions, and involve operators in the development of the standards they follow. Work Standards are the backbone of every Lean process, and the baseline for improvement.

Make pull systems part of your process DNA

Building on the Pull Production training, this section shows you how to apply pull principles not just at a system level, but embedded within your core processes. Learn how to connect work standards, TPM, and setup reduction into a seamless, demand-driven process. Explore how pull systems, from simple kanban loops to more complex CONWIP and hybrid setups, help keep WIP under control and align output with actual customer needs.
