1960 New York mid-air collision

On the morning of December 16, 1960, United Airlines Flight 826, a Douglas DC-8, collided with Trans World Airlines Flight 266, a Lockheed L1049 Super Constellation. The TWA aircraft crashed at Miller Airfield on Staten Island. The United DC-8, however, continued several miles to the northeast and impacted the ground in Brooklyn. 16 December 1960.
