Eagle Boat Assembly
Ford Motor Company built “Eagle” anti-submarine boats for the U.S. Navy during World War I. Ford assembled the boats at a new plant near the mouth of the Rouge River. The complex consisted of three primary buildings. The “B” Building, the factory’s heart, housed three production lines on which as many as 21 Eagles could be under construction at once.Image 13 June 1918.
