Lineas Aéreas Costarricenses Flight 628 Boeing 727 crash in costa rica in 1988. no deaths. The takeoff was abandoned after V1 because the aircraft wouldn’t rotate. The aircraft overran runway 07, collided with a fence, crossed a ditch, struck a hill and caught fire. PROBABLE CAUSE: Excess weight in the front cargo hold displaced the centre of gravity to the forward limit. Two additional trim units would have been required for takeoff.
