Messy to Clean Warehouse

Example of a messy warehouse with material all over the place. This is unfortunately common in industry. Please note that the image was a “before” 5S (or in this case 6S) picture, the “after” is much nicer. (although it does not show how long the “after” lasted before it turned into a “before” again). This before photo shows inventory that lined the aisles between stock shelves in the warehouse at the Charles C. Carson Center for Mortuary Affairs. As part of an Air Force Smart Operations for the 21st Century initiative, a team conducted a 6S project on the warehouse where the focus was safety, sort, straighten, shine, standardize and sustain. (U.S. Air Force photo/Christin Michaud) Image 110308-F-ZQ471-0012.JPG. An aisle in the mortuary warehouse is more easily accessible following a weeklong 6S project. (U.S. Air Force photo/Christin Michaud) This after 5S photo shows a cleaned up warehouse at the Charles C. Carson Center for Mortuary Affairs. As part of an Air Force Smart Operations for the 21st Century initiative, a team conducted a 6S project on the warehouse where the focus was safety, sort, straighten, shine, standardize and sustain.
